An electric Rolls-Royce car remains a possibility, the company's boss has suggested.

But it would be "wrong for the brand and wrong for our customers" to make a decision without exploring all options, added Rolls-Royce Motor Cars chief executive Torsten Muller-Otvos.

There has been talk over the past two years of a possible electric Rolls and at one point it seemed possible that such a vehicle could be produced by the end of 2010.

Speaking to the BBC, Mr Muller-Otvos said all options for alternatively-fuelled vehicles were being considered and that nothing had been ruled out.

He went on: "We are not going to make any rash decisions. It would be wrong for the brand and wrong for our customers if we were to take a decision without fully exploring all options."

He was speaking as Rolls-Royce announced record annual car sales in 2010 - up 171% on 2009 and more than double the previous record set in 2008.

All regions demonstrated significant sales growth, with particularly strong results seen in Asia Pacific, the USA and the Middle East.

The USA remained the biggest single market for Rolls-Royce in 2010, followed by China and the UK.

the Raja of Nanpara Estate had already contained a polished aluminum 40/50HP Silver Ghost when he ordered Rolls-Royce’s latest Phantom. Upon arrival, the owner probably didn’t like the conventional Hooper cabriolet bodywork because it was eventually scrapped and replaced with what you see here.

Almost 10 years old, this rolling chassis was then shipped to Belgium to the shop of Henri Jonckheere and his son Joseph Jonckheere. They were well known throughout Europe for making bodies on both cars and busses. The later of which is still in production today as VDL Jonckheere. The commissioning owner of the car is uncertain due to war damage at the factory, but the design is not. The Jonckheeres created an extravagant body which has just as much impact 75 years after its constuction as it did in 1935. The car was finished in time for the Concours on the French Riviera where it won the ‘Prix de Cannes’ award.

The doors, which are actually oval, required two half-moon pieces of glass that closed towards each other within a complex winding mechanism. Other details included sliding left and right sun vents, a sloping fastback profile and an enormous rear tail fin. It was also one of the few Phantom Is which featured a modified front grill.

Eventually the car made its way stateside and was saved by Max Obie fro $8500 before being scrapped. He restored the car in a brilliant hue of metallic gold and refurbished details like the silk headliner and seats that folded into beds. From here, the car was shown as a sideshow at fairs where anyone with a dollar well spent could have viewed the Coupe. After its freakshow days were numbered, the golden behemoth was stored away for long time.

In the 1980s, the car was resurrected and sold at auction. The description incorrectly listed it as “the 1954 World Motorsport winner in NY” and “Built for Prince of Wales”. With just 5000 miles on the odometer, it was picked up by a Japanese collector for $1,500,000 USD who retained the car for 20 years

1939 Rolls Royce Phantom III Labourdette Vutotal

Rebodied in 1947 by Labourdette of Paris, this Phantom III was the designer's last and arguably most daring work. After it was transformed into Labourdette’s creation, the car was sold off to different owners, including a New York plastic surgeon, a drug dealer who ended up in a Cuban prison and even S. Mars, possibly of the candy empire. In the winter of 2005 John W. Rich of Pottsville, Pennsylvania purchased the car for his extensive collection.

The Italian tuner Fenice Milano has releases their new limited Diva program for the Rolls-Royce Ghost.The program includes changes regarding the looks of the vehicle, but also the performance increased up to 570hp using an ECU upgrade. It will give the vehicle the ability to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h (62mph) in only 4,9 seconds. Other technical improvements are the suspensions adjustment and the optimization of the exhaust and suction system.

The Rolls-Royce Ghost Diva powered by a 6.6 liter twin-turbo V12 engine that delivers 563bhp and 780 NM of torque (most powerful car that Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has ever produced). This power is enough to sprint the car from 0 to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds and to hit a top speed electronically limited to 155 mph.

Their program is called "Diva" and will be available in three colors: navy, bronze, and white (with 24k gold flakes). The interior will get biscuit leather and 24k gold throughout, optional Alcantara inserts for the more ergonomically-designed seats, and wood trim.

In 2009, to meet the market's modern request, the renowned English manufacturer launched the Ghost model. Thanks to an important internal and external restyling, the 'Diva' adds a touch of Italian elegance and style, together with technical and performance improvements, able to make this car a true masterpiece with a strong personality.


To begin with the exterior, 'Diva' is proposed in three elegant versions with a bi?colour livery: from the classic blue navy, to the delicious bronze and the luxury limited edition white golden pearlescent varnishing that includes particles in 24K gold. For the navy?blue version, the bonnet and
fender are in white golden pearlescent varnishing and chromed frontal grid; while for the white version the bonnet, fender and grid are in 24K gold. For the bronze version, instead, three
combinations are available: bonnet, fender and grid in 24K gold, or bonnet and fender in white golden pearlescent varnishing and grid in 24K gold or chromed bronze grid.


Inside the console design has been maintained, but a few enhancements are provided, which due to the use of fine materials, make 'Diva' the most exclusive car available on the market. The dashboard and the passenger compartment are in biscuit?coloured leather and wood (teak or grey oak) and include white or bronze Alcantara profiles and inserts in 24K gold, whose outlines have been hand shaped by Fenice Milano's artisans. The wheel, redesigned starting from the original one, has the crown covered in biscuit?coloured leather ant the central part in 24K gold and wood (teak or grey oak). Also the seats take inspiration from the original ones, but are redesigned following ergonomic principles and realized in white combined with biscuit?coloured pure leather (alternatively a version with biscuit?coloured pure leather coupled with bronze Alcantara seats is available), and like in the original car the picnic tables and the integrated minibar with glass holders have been maintained and realized in 24K gold.


As it happens for all Fenice Milano's project, also for 'Diva' the aesthetic embellishments are coupled with
technical interventions, able to improve the performances of the base model. The ECU upgrade, the suspensions adjustment and the optimization of the exhaust and suction system guarantee in fact notably superior performances and even more comfort onboard.
